Water birds eat more than fish, and
they can be found close to, or far from, water.
- Great Egret: Shoreline Lake provides small fish for Egrets and Terns.
- Black-crowned Night Heron (Juvenile): This short and stocky
Heron has found a frog at The Oka Wildlife Sanctuary.
- Western Gull: You can find a Western Gull on any Pacific Coast beach, but not always the crab.
- Great Blue Heron: The last place you might look for a water bird, but they know when there is a population explosion of voles or mice in a dry field somewhere.
